What this policy covers

This policy describes how personal data is processed when you visit nel-express.fi, contact us or do business with us.

Personal data we process

Contact and quote requests. When you email or call us, we process the information you give us, such as your name, company, contact details and the shipment details in your request. We use it to reply, prepare quotes and provide transport services. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and, once a contract is made, performing it.

Customer and supplier relationships. We keep the contact details of customer and partner representatives, together with order, invoicing and transport documents, as needed to provide services and meet accounting and other legal obligations.

Website analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited and from what type of device. Analytics is not loaded until you accept. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer.

Technical data. Our hosting provider processes technical data such as IP address and browser type in server logs to keep the website secure and running.

Cookies

The website does not use cookies for marketing. With your consent, Google Analytics sets analytics cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser so that we do not ask repeatedly. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Recipients and transfers

We do not sell personal data. We use service providers that process data on our behalf, such as website hosting and email providers and, if you consent, Google (analytics). Google may process analytics data outside the EU/EEA; such transfers rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR, for example the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. We may also disclose data to authorities when required by law.

Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle them and for a reasonable period afterwards; accounting records are kept for the period required by law. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our analytics account.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use these rights, email planning@nel-express.fi. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
