A full truckload does not always have to run entirely by road. On long legs in Central Europe, loading the trailer on a train can be more cost-efficient than driving the whole way, and it is also lower in emissions.
Ferry and short sea connections are another option. At NEL, rail and ferry are simply different ways to carry out a full truckload – the choice depends on what is best for the shipment.
